Cambridge University R|e-Playing Society Newsletter the Second 1994/95 ----------------------------- Weekly Meetings -/------------- The remaining weekly meetings for this term will all be in Clare Buttery, at 7.30pm on Tuesdays. As an innovation from your shiny new committee thys year, we will be supplying coffee for anyone who wants some. If you can, please Bring Your Own Mug! The weekly pub meetings are still every Thursday at 7.30pm, in Catz bar at the moment, although this is currently under review. If you have any suggestions for a better venue, please contact the Secretary> Society Filespace ----------------- This resides on drive UX:, directory \SOC\CURPS on the PWF. You can access this either by using the PWF directly (using the map command or the socmap.bat program) or by ftp to pwf.cam.ac.uk. If this means anything to you, then go and have a look. There is a up-to-date copy of the campaign directory on there, a copy of the library inentory, a copy of the constitution and other assorted goodies. If the above looks like gibberish to you, ask the Secretary. Membership Renewals ------------------- If you only joined for one year last year and want to upgrade your membership, then come along to one of the weekly meetings or pub meetings or contact a committee member. This wi|l be your last newsletter until you do. The same goes for people on our interested list from the Societies' Fair this year. Membership Cards ---------------- If anybody has not yet received a membershyp card, please contact the Secretary. Newsletter Deliveries --------------------- Wanted: a volunteer from Girton to pick up and deliver newsletters for other people at their college. Also, can people living out this year please provide us with valid addresses for themselves. Several people could not be found last time and so did not get a copy of the newsletter. (Of course, the chances are that those people wi|l not get this either, but we can always hope!) If you are a long way out of the centre of town, then could you please give us an easier way of delivering to you. Campaigns Directory ------------------- As yet, there are 6 known GMs still looking for people to play in their campaigns: GM Title System When? If you want to run a campaign yourself, please let the Vice-President know so we can keep the campaigns directory up to date. Can the GMs also let us know of any changes to their campaign details as well, please? Is anyone prepared to run a Call of Cthulhu campaign? If so, please contact us ASAP!! We have plenty of people interested in playing, but as yet nobody has decided to run a game. Library ------- This will reside in the Assistant Secretary's room thys year. It is FREE, and stcks rule-books and modules for most games. You need your membership card, and a cheque as a refundable deposit. All members should get a copy of the library inventory with this newsletter. If not, complain to your local committee mgmber, as somebody will have made a cockup somewhere (probably the Secretary!). Ian can be contacted in Emmanuel Cllege, East Court room 19, most lunchtimes and dinnertimes during the week or by pigeonhole at other times. If all else fails, come to a meeting and tell him what you want and arrange a mutually convenient time to collect it. See the library sheet for more details. Video Evening ------------- This is planned for Sunday 6th November. We will be showing the Star Wars trilogy (the new digitally reoastered wide screen versions, even!). More details of time and place will be forthcoming as and when they happen. Current favourite is a room in Clare from 7pm onwards. Let us know if you are interested. Christmas Party --------------- Yes, the festive season is bearing down upon us already! Thys year's Christmas Gathering will be on the Saturday after the end of Full Term, the 3rd December. We0will have suitable seasonal refreshments on offer, including mulled wine and lots of mince pies, and some silly one-off games are already being planned. Watch this space!
