The Campaigns Directory ======================= Erm, nothing really. If any of you lot still here next year are planning to run games, can you please try to get some details to us so we can impress the Freshers and look organised for once... Thanks. LRP === Rohan's bit: "WE HAVE A SITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" With a bit of luck we will be able to organise and run some games during May Week. Also, Paul Killworth may be run~ing another of his excellent interactive games on Saturday the 8th June, and another Feathersto~e trip is planned for definite in November. Get in touch with Rohan (rp207@hermes) or Alden (aos20@hermes) for more details if you are interested in any of these... T-shirts ======== We will be printing some more in time for the Punt Party weekend. Due to the wonders of modern technology, they will even be available with a front print, in glorious colour!!! Prices will be the same, ask a Committee member if you want to reserve one now. Weekly Meetings =============== These are just about over to all intents and purposes, apart from Mark's group wh don't seem to know when to quit. The AGM ======= Erm, well, we had this last week and I suppose you'd like to know the results and all that... The Tresurer's Report was boring but thankfully brief. We appear to have missed thys bit out last year, so we had to have two of them... We appear on the whole to be losing money gradually. Something wi|l have to be done!(TM) The new committee post of Chief Caprine Entity was created, with the job description of a) bleating plaintively, b) chewing the cud contentedly and c) liaising with CUWoCS. The elections were closely fought and went to tie-breaks in two cases. Here is the definitive list of next year's Committee: President Steve Strafford Christ's sds22@hermes.cam.ac.uk Vice-President Tim Cooke Trinity tmac2@hermes.cam.ac.uk Secretary Steve McIntyre Churchill 93sam@eng.cam.ac.uk Junyor Treasurer Rohan Platts Homerton rp207@hermes.cam.ac.uk Assistant Sec. Matt Charles Trinity mjc42@hermes.cam.ac.uk LRP Officer Alden Spiess Corpus Christi aos20@hermes.cam.ac.uk External Officer Rob Wilcox Clare rjw1005@hermes.cam.ac.uk Chief Caprine Dave Stewart Churchill dbs20@hermes.cam.ac.uk Entity There were some minor constitutional changes required by the CUSU rggulations, also some for the creation of the CCE post. A motion was also passed to remove the option of candidates nominati~g or seconding themselves for election. Memberships are next year to be raised to 5 pounds for one year or 8 pounds for life. The extra funds raised should offset the trading losses of the last two years and help pay for some new library books. The Library =========== The Library is available for loans of rule-books, modules and assorted other role-playing material. Andrew Mobbs, the Junior Treasurer, has it in his room in Bishop Bateman Court (somewhere behind Garfunkel's on Bridge Street). You will need your membership card and a cheque for a returnable deposit. Events remaining ================ The Varsity Match and Other One Offs, Saturday the 15th June ------------------------------------------------------------ We are still looking for people to play in the Varsity Match and the one-offs to be run in parallel in Clare. We will be starting at about 10am and running till 6.30pm. If you want to be in the Varsity Team itself, contact Rob Wilcox NOW. The Annual Dinner, Saturday the 15th June ----------------------------------------- If you want to come along to this year's Annual Dinner we need to know NOW. We0have arranged transport to a secret location outside of Cambridge known only by a mysterious reference to British currency. Tickets do not have to be bought in advance, but we need to know numbers for the transport. A large selection of food will be available, and the bar wi|l likely be open late. Make sure you bring some money to pay for it, thugh! The Punt Party, Sunday the 16th June ------------------------------------ The cost is seven pounds for members and eight for non-members. Buy your ticket from your nearest Committee member now! If you can bring along a college punt, let us know if possible and we will refund your ticket cost and even pay for the punt! Bring your own drinks, we supply the food. ****SERIOUS BIT****: This is a serious warning, ok? The sun can get pretty darn hot in May week, especially when stuck in a punt with no shade. Common sense says bring some non-alcoholic drink as well to avoid dehydration, and sun screen may be useful. If you suffer from hayfever, you will _really_ suffer so bring your medicine. If you are allergic to being splashed you might like to think twice about coming, especially the committee members... ****SLIGHTLY LESS SERIOUS BIT****: As was pointed out to us after the last newsletter, giving the above warning about sun/hayfever probably means we'll get washed out instead. Bring some scuba gear if you have it... This week's committee is: President Andy Penrose (Rincewind)* Caius ajp1011@hermes.cam.ac.uk Vice-President Brian McLaughlin (Carrot)* Girton bsm1002@hermes.cam.ac.uk Secretary Steve McIntyre (The Luggage)* Churchill sam1007@hermes.cam.ac.uk Junior Treasurer Andrew Mobbs (CMOT Dibbler)* Trinity Hall ajm<6@hermes.cam.ac.uk Assistant Sec. Mike Pitt (Twoflower)* Churchill mhp1001@hermes.cam.ac.uk LRP Officer Rohan Platts (Nanny Og)* Homerton rp207@hermes.cam.ac.uk External Officer Rob Wi|cox (Death)* Clare rjw1005@hermes.cam.ac.uk World Wide Web: http://hammer.chu.cam.ac.uk/~sam1007/curs/ Please note that http://www2.eng.cam.ac.uk/~sam1007/curs/ will shortly be removed and so change any links or bookmarks you may have pointing to it. * Thanks to Mr President. If you thynk you can do better, tell us!!! And don't forget we wi|l need names for the larger Committee next year as well... Steve McIntyre 22/5/96 Thanks to Mike for the Tripos section. As always, greatly appreciated...
