The Campaigns Directory ======================= A few points: If any of you lot still here next year are planning to run games, can you please try to get some details to us so we can impress the Freshers and look organised. The format of the Tuesday meetings next year will be changed: we will be starting a large multi-GM game for people to try - it will be mainly freeform, with opportunities for people to play different characters and drop in and out of the weekly sessions when they want. For more details, watch this space... For the first time in history CURS will be trying to organise games during vacations. If you are going to be around Cambridge this summer and would like to play, contact me at stevem@chiark.greenend.org.uk and let me know. I'll be co-ordinating some games if we get enough interest - heck, I'll be in Cambridge over the summer and _I_ want to play! Events remaining ================ The UNICON - Saturday the 14th June ----------------------------------- Come along - 11am to 8pm at The Stone Yard Centre, St Andrew's Street Cambridge. There will be "Inter and Intra University Challenges, AD&D Team Competitions, Tabletop and LRP Traders, Team and Individual Event Prizes And More" Entry costs 1 pound. The Annual Dinner - Saturday the 14th June ------------------------------------------ The Annual dinner will be held on the evening of Saturday June 14th, at The Lazy Otter in Chittering, from 8pm onwards. This is a larger than average pub on the waterfront, with swings and things for the CURS members. The landlord needs to know rough numbers by the Saturday before (i.e. the 7th, _this Saturday_) - so tell the Secretary and the XO if you want to come. He can deal with allergies and things as long as warned in advance, and also some idea of what people would be eating would be nice. Average price for a 3-course meal should be about 10 to 15 pounds a head. Transport will be provided to and from Cambridge centre for those that want it. The Punt Party, Sunday the 15th June ------------------------------------ The cost is seven pounds for members and eight for non-members. Buy your ticket from your nearest Committee member now! If you can bring along a college punt, let us know if possible and we will refund your ticket cost and even pay for the punt! Bring your own drinks, we supply the food. ****SERIOUS BIT****: This is a serious warning, ok? The sun can get very hot in May week, especially when stuck in a punt with no shade. Common sense says bring some non-alcoholic drink as well to avoid dehydration, and sun screen may be useful. If you suffer from hayfever, you will _really_ suffer so bring your medication. If you are allergic to being splashed you might like to think twice about coming, especially the committee members... LRP - Tuesday the 17th June --------------------------- "In honour of the end of exams will we be allowing selected nutters to escape from under the watchful eyes of the Paladins of Arcadia. Anybody who is interested in recapturing them should report to Darkrych Common at 10pm on Tuesday the 17th of June." This is another attempt to run a successful liveroleplay in Cambridge. The adventure will last for about 6 to 7 hours and the emphasis is on enjoying yourselves and bashing gribblies, oh - with a bit of thought thrown in as well. The adventure will be held at Abbington Scout Camp, we can give you directions or possibly a lift for those that can't make it there on your own. The cost hasn't been decided yet, but should only be about L2. There are costumes and weapons to hire if you wish. So come along and prove that people are interested in killing orcs. For information contact the Junior Treasurer, External Officer or Live-Role-Play Officer.
